Hermit Crab Figurine

Reference 56054

€6,70

With its protective shell and large claws, the hermit crab is a small crustacean that is as fascinating as it is endearing. It can be found on beaches, rocky coasts, and even in shallow seabeds.

Surprisingly, unlike true crabs, hermit crabs don't have a hard shell on their abdomen. To protect themselves, they live in empty gastropod shells, which they change as they grow. This behavior makes them true "tenants of the sea," always searching for a new home. Some live in colonies, which allows them to exchange or "negotiate" shells with each other!

This Papo figurine realistically depicts a hermit crab: textured shell, slender legs, and characteristic claws. It's an ideal model to enrich a collection of marine animals, invent fun stories, or introduce children to the incredible survival strategies of this crustacean.
